Hey guys!
Check out the new Carter Seagrove Boutique. Alp and Chambers are offering their works in the boutique (mine too!) and will be adding more as the contracts expire with Amazon. They are also offering personalization services which is really cool.
I really like this idea of authors selling their own work independently. They get paid for their time, talent and energy without having to go through all the red tape and paying a middle man. It's amazing how big of a cut that gets taken by eBook retailers. I love the freedom of anyone being able to self-publish. However, it is unfortunate that self-publishers end up putting in the same amount of time and work as traditionally published authors but don't end up receiving the same compensation for it. I hope that one day this will change and talented writers like Alp and Chambers will be able to dedicate more time to bringing us their awesome stories! (Well, I can't say for sure what they do when they're not writing but I do know that I work full-time so I can only write in the evenings and on the weekends.)
Speaking of which … The Interior Designer is coming along albeit slowly. I'm thinking my original estimate of having it done by the end of the month was a little too optimistic. I'm writing this story in third person whereas The Golf Widow was written in first person. This is bringing me new challenges and I'm learning more too. Learning the art of writing fiction is very exciting as is stretching my creativity to places I've never gone before. I do encourage everyone to try it for themselves; even if it is just a very short story.
I must get back to my day job but wanted to share the news about the new boutique. Such an awesome idea … check it out!
Have a good one!
Shannon
P.S. Obtaining from the Carter Seagrove Boutique does work great! It turns out there was one book that I didn't have yet ... and here I thought I had them all!
